Windy and Gryphi are SO happy that the new year has started! New Years Day is the bros' one day off during the entire year. They look forward to the day of relaxation and a break from their constant missions. While they were vegetating on this day of slumber, Shippo entered the room and excitedly begged the bros to play football with him. Windy and Gryphi calmly reminded Shippo that it was winter time, and they weren't real big on the whole "outside" thing. In his extreme disappointment, Shippo flipped out, hitting Windy in the face with a fly swatter, and chucking a basketball straight at Gryphi's stomach. This, as one might imagine, infuriated Windy and Gryphi. They looked at each other, and without a word, picked up Shippo and threw him out the window. Shippo yelled some vague threats from outside the house, and then disappeared.
"Some New Year's Day this has turned out to be," said Windy. "It may as well not even be a day off," Gryphi chimed in. All of a sudden, out of the far window, the bros noticed Shippo kicking a tree in the back yard. To their astonishment, the tree actually gave way and fell directly on Shippo. The bros ran outside as fast as they could to evaluate the situation. The tree had knocked Shippo unconscious, and was, amazingly, covering his entire body - head to toe. After notifying the emergency medical services, they decided they needed to remove the tree from atop their little adopted pride and joy. To do this, the god powers needed to come out to play. They basically didn't even have to do anything. They levitated the fallen lumber with naught but a stare, and pulled the small child out to safety.
At the hospital, after five days of waiting and wondering, Shippo finally woke up. Windy and Gryphi were ecstatic, and ran over to hug the their young lad. Shippo had other plans. Despite some mild to moderate atrophy in his muscles, he managed to punch both bros in the face so hard that each of them had to be admitted to the hospital as well. To them, it was just more relaxation. The hospital had some pretty decent food, some pretty comfy beds, and cable TV. This is what New Years is all about.
